Fix URL and access issues

Resolve common causes of failed page audits before trying the audit again.

Use a public, complete URL

  • Include https:// or http:// in the URL.
  • Check the domain and path for typos before creating the audit.
  • Use a page that is available without signing in or completing a private workflow.

Why a page may not be available to the audit

An audit service cannot use your personal browser session. Password-protected, private, staging-only, or bot-protected pages may not be reachable even when they open in your own browser.

The page can also fail when the host is unavailable, the URL path no longer exists, or the page takes too long to respond. Confirm the page is live and try again after the site is stable.

Sign-in and account access

If Design Audit asks you to sign in or your session has expired, sign in again and return to the Page Audits dashboard. If the problem continues, use the same email address for your support request that you use for Design Audit.
